About Val Wilcox

My Story

Val has a long history of community involvement and volunteerism in Post Falls and Coeur d’Alene, and brings many years of business and marketing experience to the Chamber. Growing up in Everett, Washington, she began working and managing her parent’s shoe store as a teenager, which gave her an early start with responsibilities in the world of retail, advertising and community event planning.

After moving to Post Falls in 1980, Val worked for the Post Falls School District, then joined husband, Cort, at D.A. Davidson & Co. as a Branch Marketing Assistant for 10 years, before his retirement. She is a board member of the Post Falls Education Foundation, executive board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Kootenai County, and Post Falls Chamber Ambassador Committee Chair.

Val and Cort have two grown children who were both raised in Post Falls: Craig and his wife, Kat, who enjoy living in south Texas, and Shannon, a local massage therapist. Then there’s the wonderful grandson who attends Whitworth University and is a tight-end football player for the Whitworth Pirates. Love watching those football games.
